Nikon Coolpix S3 Review at Imaging Resource

Nikon Coolpix S3
Imaging Resource has a good review of the Nikon Coolpix S3 digital camera: 'Slim and light, the Nikon Coolpix S3 ranks among the smallest digital cameras currently on the market. A camera that can nearly be eclipsed by an ordinary credit card, the Nikon S3 is designed to fit nicely into shirt pockets, pants pockets, and small purses, perfect for anyone as a take-everywhere camera. ... The Coolpix S3 delivers very bright, snappy-looking photos with vibrant, hue-accurate color and good detail for making large prints. The S3's very bright color will appeal to the majority of consumers, but may be a bit much for those accustomed to the more restrained color of higher-end and professional digital camera models.' HP Scanjet 4890 Review at Pocket-Lint

HP Scanjet 4890
Here's a Pocket-Lint review of the HP Scanjet 4890 flatbed scanner: "Flatbed scanners are increasingly able to do more and more in terms of the bits you can scan on them, and like many flatbeds at the 4890's level, scanning multiple film formats as part of the package is a must have, particularly if you want to archive and/or restore old film shots. An accomplished, fast and easy to use scanner that has a few annoying idiosyncrasies but is otherwise a scanner worth looking for if you're the type still with boxes of old negs, slides or prints that need archiving." Canon to Boost Digital Camera Output

Canon EOS 5D
Forbes has an unconfirmed report that Canon is to raise its digital camera output this year with at least one to two new models: "Canon plans to boost production of digital cameras, the Nihon Keizai Shimbun reported, without citing sources. The business daily said the company intends to to offer nearly 20 digital camera models in 2006, one or two more than in 2005. It added that Canon sees its worldwide sales rising 14 pct this year to 19.2 mln units, and it is beefing up its facilities to cope. Canon aims to boost its global market share above 20 pct and is targeting sales of 23 mln units in 2008, up more than 30 pct from 2005, the report said." With Canon clearly leading the field in digital SLRs, it would probably make sense to expand while the going is good.
