The Sony Cybershot DSC-W50 is reviewed at Megapixel: ‘The Sony DSC-W50 belongs in that group of very compact cameras that are no bigger than a deck of cards. This particular model offers a 6-megapixel resolution, a Carl Zeiss 3X optical zoom, and a generous 2.5-inch monitor. One of the strengths of the DSC-W50 is its excellent metering. Using a system that evaluates a number of areas in the frame to arrive at an average, which is used to determine the shutter speed and aperture, the metering yields images that are usually flawless. With this camera, it is unavoidable that its movie mode be mentioned. At the highest resolution and best image quality, video clips are impressive not only for their image quality, but also for the clarity of the sound, which is uncommon.’
