Fujifilm A600 and A700 released

Finepix A700

After the A400 and A500 Fujifilm crafted two more goodlooking cameras in this series: the A600 with 6.3 MegaPixel and the A700 with 7.3 MP. And that looks like the only difference between the two. Amazing, who cares about only one MP difference???

Both cams have an optical zoom equivalent to 36-108 mm, a large 2.4″ screen and run on 2 x AA batteries: that’s good!
The CCD chip is of a new design, using an octogonal setup of the elements instead of a simple square one. The advantage is less wasted space, so the chip can stay small and generates only a little bit of noise. Strange that the maximum ISO value is only 400…

Many cameras cannot function without a memory card, but this one can, as Fujifilm mounted 12 MB internally:

The FinePix A600 makes it possible for you to get that picture even if you forget or fill up your xD-Picture Card. With internal memory built into the A600, now you will never have to miss that special shot. Think of it as your internal insurance policy for photo opportunities.

Come on, only 12 MB? Don’t try to shoot a lot in highest resolution then!
The camera’s can shoot movies too, albeit with a small format of 320×240. That’s what most phones can do, but it’s not a lot.

These camera’s don’t have the highest specs in he world, but they are very compact and the technology is absolutely up-to-date. If you are looking for an easy point and shoot type camera that’s able to run on standard alkaline batteries: put them on your shortlist! More info is available on the Fujifilm USA website.
