After the beautiful black edition of the LG Chocolate multi purpose phone, a white one is released. As camera enthousisasts, we look at the camera-part specifically (although the nice handset is packed with other useful parts, like a phone…).
Is this the supercam, for which you can leave your point-and-shoot home?
Unfortunately… no. The camera is the same 1.3 MP 1280×960 as in the black Chocolate, that’s able to make nice pictures, but cannot touch the quality of the latest Nokia and Sony-Ericsson mainstream GSM’s.
It’s not bad, if you like the phone’s design above all, you also get a nice camera. But if picture-quality is on top of the list, take a look at other options.
GSMarena has a nice set of example shots.

Digicam manufacturers are almost being overtaken by phonebuilders in the no-zoom point-and-shoot genre. And, you can even make phonecalls with them, organize your life and what have you…
Of course there are digicams the same weight and size - having at least 3x optical zoom and much more pixels. If you love taking pictures a dedicated cam is still a much finer tool to work with, but hey: when was the last time you forgot your phone?
I surprised lots of people with pictures from my 2 MP cameraphone, taken at the weirdest locations. This good looking Nokia N73 is nowadays top of the bill, as good or even better than it’s competitors from Sony-Ericsson and Samsung.
Take a look here for a review.
