Fujifilm A600 and A700 released

Finepix A700

After the A400 and A500 Fujifilm crafted two more goodlooking cameras in this series: the A600 with 6.3 MegaPixel and the A700 with 7.3 MP. And that looks like the only difference between the two. Amazing, who cares about only one MP difference???

Both cams have an optical zoom equivalent to 36-108 mm, a large 2.4″ screen and run on 2 x AA batteries: that’s good!
The CCD chip is of a new design, using an octogonal setup of the elements instead of a simple square one. The advantage is less wasted space, so the chip can stay small and generates only a little bit of noise. Strange that the maximum ISO value is only 400…

Many cameras cannot function without a memory card, but this one can, as Fujifilm mounted 12 MB internally:

The FinePix A600 makes it possible for you to get that picture even if you forget or fill up your xD-Picture Card. With internal memory built into the A600, now you will never have to miss that special shot. Think of it as your internal insurance policy for photo opportunities.

Come on, only 12 MB? Don’t try to shoot a lot in highest resolution then!
The camera’s can shoot movies too, albeit with a small format of 320×240. That’s what most phones can do, but it’s not a lot.

These camera’s don’t have the highest specs in he world, but they are very compact and the technology is absolutely up-to-date. If you are looking for an easy point and shoot type camera that’s able to run on standard alkaline batteries: put them on your shortlist! More info is available on the Fujifilm USA website.

Fujifilm Finepix E900 Review at DCR

Fujifilm FinePix E900

A review of the Fujifilm Finepix E900 Digital Camera at Digital Camera Review concludes: ‘To paraphrase the old FoMoCo commercial, image quality is job one, and the E900 delivers consistently excellent image quality. The E900’s strong suit is neutral color; as a long time photographer I am not enamored of the over saturated circus-chrome colors that are so popular with American digital camera buyers. Even in auto white balance mode this camera produces some of the most accurate color I’ve seen to date. … The FinePix E900 is Fujifilm’s flagship “E”-series digital camera and features 9 megapixel resolution, a 4X optical zoom, a 2-inch LCD screen, and full manual controls. Fujifilm touts the FinePix E900 as the perfect weekend camera for professional shooters who want maximum creative control, but don’t want to carry lots of bulky equipment.’

Fujifilm S9000 Review by NFHQ

Fujifilm S9000

The Fujifilm S9000 digital camera is generously reviewed by NFHQ:

“Fujifilm’s S9000 is an enthusiast level product which is trying to gracefully merge the strengths of a point-and-shoot and a DSLR. This model has some great specs and should immediately be getting some attention for its nine megapixel imaging sensor and manual zoom lens. Features like these two set this camera apart from the amateur cameras which people tend to associate with Fujifilm. Overall this camera is very well designed and its going to be the right choice for a lot of people. The falling prices, increasing user friendliness, and growing availability of older generation DSLR cameras is going to challenge the S9000 for its more advanced buyers, but for the hobbyist and general consumer who is looking to take some great shots, its a smart pick.”
