Olympus E-510 and E-410 Digital SLRs

Cameratown gives a summary of a first look at the Olympus E-510 Digital SLR by DCResource in its email newsletter :

“When Olympus announced that their compact E-400 digital SLR would not be sold in the US, the collective groan could’ve been heard in space. After all, we Americans want small D-SLRs too! Thankfully someone at Olympus was listening, and they brought the E-400’s replacement - the E-410 - to the rest of us. Not only is it a compact SLR - it’s also got a lot of cool tricks up its sleeve… The E-410 is the smallest digital SLR on the market. Yes, smaller than both the Nikon D40 and Canon Rebel XTi. The camera has a metal frame with a hard plastic shell, and it feels very solid in your hands. It doesn’t have much of a grip, so I highly recommend trying one out in person before you buy it, especially if you have large hands. Or, consider the E-510, which has a much more substantial grip…”

Olympus Stylus 750 compact reviewed

DCresource did another excellent job testing the Olympus Stylus 750. That’s a very compact camera, fitting in most pockets. Still it has great specifications - not unlike competitors, so what’s really needed is a good review. And here it is.

Pity to say is that the cam does not end up well in the tests, despite it’s appealing looks and fine specs. I’m able to forgive the proprietary battery and xD memory card, but this one should have come out of the tests better… Please check out the review for yourself!

Olympus FE-190 previewed

One of my all-time favourite cameras is a very compact Olympus, from the days we used analog film. It was smaller than many expensive APS cameras, withstood rain and never let me down.
These feelings of nostalgia come up, every time I see an Olympus…
What can I say of this camera… it has at least one big advantage: it’s so pocketable. I guess it never hurts anywhere???

Now the people at Steve’s Digicams took a preview at this cam…
